    Abstract: Provided is an EL sheet backlight with an improved structure and a keypad assembly including the same, which can improve visibility of a keypad. The EL sheet backlight includes a base substrate including an electrode formed of ITO, a mask on the base substrate, the mask allowing light to pass through a display region and preventing light from passing through a non display region, a phosphor layer on the mask, the phosphor layer emitting light when an electric field is applied, a dielectric layer on the phosphor layer, a rear electrode on the dielectric layer, the rear electrode being divided into islands corresponding to the display region, a silver terminal configured to supply power to the islands of the divided rear electrode, and an insulating passivation layer on the silver terminal, wherein when power is applied between the electrode formed of ITO and the islands of the rear electrode, a portion of the phosphor layer cor¬ responding to the islands of the rear electrode emits light, and the light emitted from the portion of the phosphor layer passes through the mask toward a front side to improve visibility of the keypad.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A keypad assembly using a light guide sheet and a method of making the same are provided to reduce the number of a component by integrating a key body with a light guide sheet. CONSTITUTION: A keypad assembly comprises an integrated keypad(10), a reverse metal dome sheet(20), and a flexible printed circuit board(30). The integrated keypad shows a key button through an incident light. The key button is unified to a light guide sheet. The reverse metal dome sheet drives the metal dome by driving the integrated keypad through a boss. The flexible printed circuit board transfers an operation signal of the reverse metal dome sheet.
