    Abstract: A reflector array includes a support structure, a motor, a shaft operatively coupled to the motor, a free plate, and a drive plate. The free plate includes a free plate first side and a free plate second side axially opposed to the free plate first side. The free plate further may include a latching mechanism disposed on the free plate second side and a drive plate. The drive plate is rotatably coupled to the shaft. The drive plate includes a drive plate first side and a drive plate second side axially opposed to the drive plate first side. The drive plate further includes a drive plate finger coupled to the drive plate second side. The drive plate finger is configured to contact the latching mechanism in response to rotation of the driver plate. The drive plate finger is further configured to couple the drive plate to the free plate.

    Abstract: A reflector array includes a base, a rotating support pivotally coupled to the base, and an array actuator comprising a rotating element coupled to the rotating support. The reflector array also includes a plurality of reflectors attached to the rotating support such that the plurality of reflectors rotate in unison in conjunction with one another relative to the base as the array actuator rotates the rotating element. First and second reflectors are coupled to the rotating support via separate reflector support elements that are rotatable to adjust elevation angles of the first and second reflectors.

    Abstract: A method of characterizing an imaging system includes generating a plurality of point spread function (“PSF”) samples using the imaging system, each PSF sample representing a response of an imaging system to a point illumination source, each PSF sample comprising one or more pixel values. The method also includes co-registering the pixel values contained in each of the plurality of PSF samples to form an oversampled point spread function (“PSF”) population; resampling the oversampled PSF population to uniform spacing to form a PSF image; slicing the PSF image in an evaluation direction to form a slice of the PSF image; and evaluating the slice to determine a value of a resolution metric of the imaging system that is specific to the evaluation direction.

    Abstract: An illumination system includes an illumination source configured to emit illumination light and a dispersive optical element configured to generate an angularly dispersed optical signal from the illumination light that is used to generate a spectral image. A digital micro-mirror device (DMD) includes an array of reflective elements that receive the spectral image and direct a portion of the spectral image to an integrating sphere. A controller is configured to calculate a subset of an array of reflective elements of the DMD to activate based on a target illumination output signal using a calibration model of the illumination system. The controller is also configured to activate the subset of the array of reflective elements to change the portion of the spectral image directed to the integrating sphere to generate an illumination output signal that substantially matches the target illumination output signal.
