PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain dehydration component on a formation part of a papermaking machine or a board-making machine bringing about optimal relationship between retention and formation than before. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a dehydration element on a formation part of a paper-making machine or a board-making machine. The formation part comprises a movable wire bringing into contact with a wall and the wall comprises an unpulsating suction zone having the same degree of width as width of wire. The wall comprises an outlet groove behind the suction zone in advancing direction of the wire and the outlet groove is essentially provided in the lateral direction of the papermaking machine or board-making machine. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a scraper of a curtain coater. SOLUTION: The curtain coater is used for coating a transferable material web such as paper or cardboard with a coating agent. A coating apparatus is arranged at a position above the material web having an upper surface. The above web is installed in the curtain coater so that it is transferable. Specifically, the web is arranged so that the coating agent is applied on the web surface so as to form a thin flow of liquid that resembles a "curtain." The curtain coater is provided with a scraper having a surface for scraping that is engaged on the upper surface of the web so as to remove an air boundary layer on the web surface. The durability of the scraper surface for scraping is increased by composing the scraper with a material capable of providing a surface-hardened or durability-enhanced coating layer or with an ablation-resistant material. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for stabilizing the run in the drying section of a paper machine or the like. SOLUTION: A web 16 running from an opening nip between a cylinder 10 and a supporting fabric 18 toward a roll 14, is supported by a negative pressure created by a blow box 30. In an intensified negative pressure region 34', i.e. close to the disengaging point between the supporting fabric and the cylinder, the pressure is greater than at a distance from this disengaging point. The negative pressure is controlled according to parameters which act on the runability of the web and which can be varied, so the desired runability is maintained between the cylinder and the roll. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grooved forming roll capable of preventing web marking. SOLUTION: This grooved forming roll has a shell (20) supported to be rotatable and further has circular opening parts (21) arranged to be at least openable on an outer surface of the shell (20). Further, the roll has circular grooves (22) each related to each of the opening parts (21) formed on the outer surface, so that the groove is concentrically arranged with respect to a corresponding opening part (21). Furthermore, a part of the formed circular groove (22) extends from each of adjacent opening parts (21) to each of other opening parts (21) on the outer surface. The circular groove (22) has such an outside diameter (r) that the number of neck parts (24) of which the borders are determined by the adjacent opening parts (21) and the circular groove (22) itself on the outer surface of the shell is larger than the number of the opening parts (21) adjacent to the corresponding opening part (21) in one of the circular grooves. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved configuration in a paper machine, in which a vertical-impingement unit is used.SOLUTION: There is provided the configuration in the paper machine or similar machines, which includes a press section 11 equipped with one or more press nips 13.1 and 13.2, and a drying section composed of a web-supporting web-transfer part. There are pre-impingement drying part 20 and a vertical impingement dryer part 21 which are compactly disposed between the press and a first drying cylinder. In order to pre-heat a paper web, the pre-impingement drying part 20 for directly spraying onto the paper web is disposed right back of the press section 11 and also right in front of the vertical impingement drying part 21.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for easing or wholly removing problems with zero load on a fiber web machine. SOLUTION: In the method for easing zero load on a rotating machine mechanism 1 for the fiber web machine in relation to a supporting part, the machine mechanism 1 is subjected to loads Q1, Q2 in a load direction. According to this invention, a load F on the machine mechanism 1 is arranged, different from that in the load direction in a region where the zero load may be at least during work. A mantle, a supporting shaft 2, and a main bearing 3 of a rolling bearing type arranged on the shaft 2 belong to the rotating machine mechanism.
