Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing sanitizing water in a cabinet (11) and spigot (26, 27) type bottled water dispenser (10) features an ozone generating system (50) to generate ozone for sanitizing the water. Ozone is generated and collected within an ozone generator housing (57). A blower (54) transmits air to the ozone generator housing (57). The air carries the ozone that is generated through a flow line (38) to an air diffuser (37) that is positioned upstream of the spigot (or spigots) (26, 27) used to dispense water. In one embodiment, a valve (101) that is activated on the spigot (26, 27) to dispense water also activates the blower (54) and ozone generator (50). In other embodiments, a flow sensor (145) activates the ozone generator (50) and blower (54). Various spigot (26, 27) and flow sensor (145) arrangements are disclosed as a part of the overall apparatus and method.
Abstract:
An apparatus for a programmable self sanitizing water dispenser apparatus with a digital controller as well as a programmable method for generating ozone for cleaning the reservoir and the water contained within it. The apparatus includes an anti-spill receiver that houses the controller and that can contain a ozone generator.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for sanitizing a water dispenser that dispenses water for human consumption is disclosed. The dispenser can be in the form of any dispenser that dispenses water for human consumption employing a reservoir that dispenses water through one or more spigots. Water in the reservoir is sanitized with an air/ozone gas mixture that is transmitted to a porous polymeric diffuser having a central bore and a porous wall. The porosity of the porous wall defines bubble size.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus of sanitizing drinking water to be dispensed from a water dispenser having a reservoir includes the steps of providing the ozone gas generator that generates an ozone gas stream, transmitting the ozone gas stream from the generator to the water dispenser reservoir, mechanically breaking up the ozone gas stream inside the reservoir to produce ozone gas bubbles, and using the ozone gas bubbles to disinfect water in the reservoir. The ozone gas stream can be mechanically broken up using a pump such as, for example, an impeller type pump.
