Abstract:
The invention concerns the use as biocides of polymers which contain the following incorporated by polymerization: (a) between 0.1 and 100 mol % vinyl amine units or ethylene imine units; (b) between 0 and 99.9 mol % units of at least one monomer selected from the group comprising open-chain N-vinyl carboxylic acid amides, vinyl formiate, vinyl acetate, vinyl propionate, vinyl alcohol, C1 to C6 alkyl vinyl ether, monoethylenically unsaturated C3 to C8 carboxylic acids, their esters, nitriles, amides and anhydrides, N-vinyl urea, N-vinyl imidazoles and N-vinyl imidazolines; and (c) between 0 and 5 mol % units of monomers having at least two ethylenically unsaturated double bonds. The total of (a), (b) and (c) in mol % is always 100.
Abstract:
A cup catalyst consisting of a glass substrate, the pores of which have a diameter of at least 10 nm and on which there is a catalytically active layer containing compounds of elements from the alkaline metal, alkali metal earth and/or lanthanide group of the periodic system and process for producing aziridines, preferably ethylene imine, by the intramolecular catalytic dehydration of alkanol amines, preferably ethanol amine, in the gas phase at temperatures of at least 250 DEG C on the above-described cup catalysts and isolation of the aziridines from the reaction mixture.
Abstract:
A process for producing aziridines of the formula (I) in which R , R , R , R and R are mutually independently H, C1-C8 alkyl or aryl and R is in addition benzyl, C1-C8 hydroxyalkyl or C1-C8 aminoalkyl, by the intramolecular catalytic dehydration of alkanol amines of the formula (II) in which the constituents R , R , R , R and R have the meanings given in formula (I), in the gas phase at temperatures of at least 250 DEG C on solid catalysts in a fluidised bed at a pressure of 1 to 500 mbar, in which, while maintaining the fluidised bed, a part of the solid catalyst is removed from the reactor, regenerated and fed back into the generator and the aziridines are isolated from the reaction mixture.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a shell-type catalyst comprising a metallic carrier material and a catalytically active layer which adheres firmly thereto, which contains elements of the alkali, alkaline earth and/or lanthanide group of the periodic system of elements and which can be obtained by physical or chemical vapour deposition on the carrier material. The invention further concerns the use of shell-type catalysts and a process for preparing aziridines by the catalytic intramolecular splitting off of water in the gaseous phase from compounds of formula (I), in which R , R , R , R and R , independently of one another, signify H or C1 - C4 alkyl and R additionally stands for cyclohexyl, phenyl, benzyl, C1 - C8 hydroxyalkyl or C1 - C8 aminoalkyl.
