    Abstract: A thermoplastic polymer composition (A) leads to reduced migration of stabilisers or other ingredients (I), if it contains e.g. 50 to 90 wt. %, relative to the polymer composition (A), of a thermoplastic polymer (P), which has migration barrier properties, as well as at least one stabiliser component (S) and/or a further ingredient (I), wherein the following is true for the polymer composition (A): a) the glass transition temperature Tg of the thermoplastic polymer (P) is greater than the use temperature; and b) the polymer-specific constant for polymers (Ap) of the thermoplastic polymer (P) is less than I; and c) the derived diffusion coefficient (Dp) of the thermoplastic polymer (P) for mineral oil is less than 10−12 cm2/s at 20° C.; and d) the morphology of the thermoplastic polymer (P) is either single-phase homogeneous, or two-phase heterogeneous.

    Abstract: The invention relates to polymer blends of a styrene copolymer A selected from the group consisting of styrene acrylonitrile copolymers (SAN), styrene acrylonitrile maleic anhydride terpolymers (SMA), styrene acrylic copolymers, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene terpolymers (ABS), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene terpolymers with polyamide (ABS/PA), and acrylonitrile styrene acrylate terpolymers (ASA); and at least one copolymer B selected from the group consisting of styrene-butadiene block copolymers (SBC) and styrene-isoprene block copolymers (SIS); wherein the mold shrinkage of the polymer blend is reduced by at least 5% compared to the mold shrinkage of the pure styrene copolymer A.A process for the preparation of the polymer blends and the uses of the polymer blends in an injection molding process are described.

    Abstract: A method for producing a polymer from a first component and a second component using a reactor (50) offers technical advantages, wherein reaction heat produced in the reactor (50) is discharged via a boiling cooler (40) by supplying gaseous vapors produced in the reactor (50) to the boiling cooler (40). A product flow containing condensed vapors is returned to the reactor (50) from the boiling cooler (40) via a separation vessel (60), and an aqueous phase is separated from the product flow in the separation vessel (60). A system is provided for producing a polymer from a first component and a second component, comprising a reactor (50) and a boiling cooler (40) for discharging reaction heat produced in the reactor (50). A separation vessel (60) is arranged between the boiling cooler (40) and the reactor (50) such that a product flow containing condensed vapors is returned to the reactor (50) from the boiling cooler (40) via the separation vessel (60).

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for economically using styrene-containing plastic waste as raw material for new high-quality plastic products as part of a raw material recycling process, optionally having the steps of pre-treating a styrene-containing starting material, decomposing the styrene-containing starting material in a suitable reactor, discharging and collecting the resulting gases and condensing the low-molecular products in a suitable separator, separating the collected low-molecular components of the previous step by means of a fractioning distillation process, and optionally additionally decomposing the styrene oligomers in a steam cracker.
