Abstract:
An apparatus, a method, and a computer program product of a wireless device are provided in which a first device identifier of a wireless device is provided. An allocation record is received that includes an expression used for discovery, a second device identifier, and at least one of a digital signature of a first server that delegates the expression or a digital signature of a second server that manages the expression. The allocation record is verified. An apparatus, a method, and a computer program product of a first server are provided in which a device identifier is received from a wireless device. An allocation record is generated that includes an expression used for discovery, the device identifier, and at least one of a digital signature of the first server or a digital signature of a second server that manages the expression. The allocation record is sent.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for generating, communicating, and/or using sets of addresses corresponding to a communications device are described. A first communications device generates, from a public key and a random number, both a first address and a second address. The generated address pair is communicated to a second communications device along with proof of ownership information regarding the address pair via an address signaling message such as a binding update message. The second communications device processes the received address signaling message and determines address pair validity and/or address pair ownership information. The first address may be associated with a first network, e.g. , an unsecure WAN network, while the second address may be associated with a second network, e.g. , a secure peer to peer network. Decisions on switching between using the first address to using the second address may be based on address validity and/or address ownership determinations.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing gateway relocation to an external network wherein a user equipment (UE) includes an initial external network connection via a source core node, e.g., a PDNGW, comprises initializing a mobility event, reallocating the initial external network connection from via the source core node to via a target core node to create a new external network connection, allocating the new IP address to the UE for the new external network connection, and using the new IP address. The UE may have several bearers established, including local breakout bearers.
Abstract:
Systems, methodologies, and devices are described that enable communication devices, such as mobile devices, to efficiently connect and communicate with public data networks (PDNs) even if overlapping Internet protocol address spaces exist in the PDNs. The subject innovation can employ virtual home agents (v-HAs) that can respectively serve PDNs. To facilitate connection of a mobile device to a desired PDN, a message, including an identifier relating to the desired PDN, can be transmitted to a v-HA and it can be discovered whether that v-HA serves the desired PDN; if so, the v-HA transmits the message to a “home” home agent (h-HA) associated with the desired PDN; and if not, the v-HA can transmit a switch message indicating the correct v-HA to which the message should be sent. Concatenation of communication tunnels associated with the correct v-HA and h-HA facilitate efficient communication associated with the mobile device and desired PDN.

Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate Mobile IP home agent (HA) discovery in a wireless communication system. Discovery of a HA for Mobile IP can be conducted as described herein for a mobile terminal located on a network wherein movement of the terminal is managed by a network-based mobility protocol. For example, various aspects described herein can be utilized for discovery of a HA located in a 3GPP network from 3GPP and/or non-3GPP access. Further, various aspects described herein can be utilized to discover a gateway acting as mobility anchor for a network mobility protocol utilized by the network. As additionally described herein, HA discovery can be conducted in connection with DNS query formation and communication, network attach and/or re-attach procedures, Neighbor Discovery signaling, and/or other procedures.
Abstract:
A method of operating a wireless device includes displaying an advertisement on the wireless device. In addition, the method includes differentiating the display of the advertisement based on at least one criterion in order to indicate to a user of the wireless device a satisfaction of the at least one criterion. A method of operating a server includes receiving at least one criterion. In addition, the method includes differentiating a display of an advertisement based on the at least one criterion in order to indicate to a user of a wireless device a satisfaction of the at least one criterion. Furthermore, the method includes sending the differentiated advertisement for display on the wireless device.
Abstract:
A method apparatus, processor, and computer program product for wireless communication, including employing a communication interface to obtain a binding update message from a mobile node (MN). A data process is employed to analyze the binding update message for a network address of a corresponding node (CN). A communication interface is employed to initiate a long-life secure association between the CN and a network agent serving the MN if the binding update message contains the network address of the CN, wherein the long-life secure association enables the MN and CN to participate in a route optimized (RO) mobile communication session. The method may include employing a data processor to generate a binding cache entry for the network entity or a network component serving the network entity, wherein the binding cache entry includes a security key that facilitates a route optimized communication session with the network entity or the network component.

Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods for detecting a routing loop between at least two home agents utilizing the mobile internet protocol (MIPv6) standard. In a first method, the home agent sends a test message to the last care of address associated with a mobile node and receives a reply if there is no loop. In a second method, the home agent parses a packet and checks if the address of any of the inner headers matches the address of the home agent to find a loop between home agents.
