    Abstract: A carpet construction having an interposed layer of foam and a loop backing. The foam layer is manufactured with a fabric covering on both of its sides, the bottom covering having loops. A carpet backing is affixed to the foam sandwich using conventional methods. The foam sandwich can be secured to the carpet pile layer at the same time and with the same material that binds and seals the carpet pile layer. Alternatively, the foam sandwich can be manufactured, stored and later attached to the carpet which has previously been pre-coated with a binder.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a beveller for a carpet. The beveller includes a rotatable blade for cutting material. The blade is mounted about an axis of rotation and has an edge which is non-linear radially. The beveller also includes a counter-knife having an edge mounted adjacent to the blade.     Abstract: An improved anchor sheet is described. The anchor sheet can be injection molded from polypropylene and can have a thickness of between 0.031 inches and 0.75. Such an anchor sheet can be molded with hooks and can have an attached resilient layer. Stems integral with the anchor sheet are used to form the hooks, and may be lmm high and 0.55 mm in diameter. The density of stems may be approximately 230 per square inch, or approximately 128,000 stems on a plate. An anchor sheet made in this way makes an excellent field of hooks when installed onto a supporting surface such as a floor. This field of hooks can take an overlying decorative covering such as pieces of loop backed carpet. When a resilient layer is attached, for example by ultrasonic welding, to the underside of the anchor sheet, between the anchor sheet and the floor, the anchor sheet can have the right degree of 'give', so that a user can experience some cushioning effect from the resilient layer below the anchor sheet, but with some level of rigidity so that the load of walking is transmitted across a larger surface and does not 'dig' into the resilient layer.

    Abstract: An anchor board construction system suitable for incorporation into the interior of buildings and homes is disclosed for use as a plaster based wall board (20) having one surface thereof incorporating a layer of protruding attachment hooks (24). These hooks can accept and retain decorative and functional surface finish units embodying a looped or other suitably "piled" posterior surface portion, for attachment to the hooks. For use, within a building as a wall system, the novel anchor boards are secured into position as an underlying wall layer, and a selected form of area finish embodying a complementary attachment surface is secured thereto simply by pressing into place. The area finish can be carpet tiles, wallpaper or fabric with looped backing or wood panelling. The system includes provision for trims, baseboards, cornice moldings, door moldings and outlet covers together with electrical conduit.
