Abstract: PURPOSE: A cover hinge device of a cellular phone is provided to automatically open and close a cover by operating a geared motor according to the first sensor or the second sensor, thereby preventing minute gears inside of the geared motor from being damaged by reverse load. CONSTITUTION: A hinge can(30) has an internal space opened outside, and forms the first piercing hole(34) to the other side. A rotative shaft(42) is coupled with a coupling(46) having a coupling groove(48) in a geared motor(40). A stopper(60) is coupled with an open part of the hinge can(30), and forms a hinge projector(62). The hinge projector(62) is rotatively coupled in a hinge hole. A friction plate(70) forms a coupling shaft(72) coupled with the coupling groove(48) by passing through the first piercing hole(34). A supporter(90) forms the second piercing hole(94), has a friction wall(92) contacted with the friction plate(70), and is fixed into a body. A pressing spring(80) elastically supports the friction plate(70) to the friction wall(92). The first sensor is installed on the body of one side, and senses a closing of a cover. The second sensor is installed on the body of the other side, and senses an opening of the cover. A switch drives the geared motor(40). A controller drives or stops the geared motor(40) by signals of the first and the second sensors and a signal of the switch.

이러한 개폐장치의 힌지 통체는 본체에 힌지회전가능하게 결합된다. 고정원통체는 힌지 통체의 상방으로 돌출 형성된다. 회전원통체는 고정원통체와 회전 가능하게 결합된다. 암은 회전원통체의 양측에 돌출 형성되고, 커버에 결합된다. 압축스프링에 탄지되는 이동편의 반구형돌기는 암에서 회전원통체의 반구형홈에 결합되어 소정의 제동력을 발생시킨다.
이러한 휴대폰의 개폐장치는, 회전원통체와 고정원통체의 상호 회전에 의해 커버가 본체에 대해 반전되는 것이 가능하다. 따라서 휴대폰을 사용하지 않을 때에도 휴대폰의 대형 액정화면을 외측에 위치시켜 게임 등을 즐길 수 있으며, 커버에 화상통신용 카메라가 장착된 경우 커버를 전방 또는 후방으로 회전시키며 전후방의 영상을 모두 촬영할 수 있다.
