Abstract:
PURPOSE: A duplex vibriocidal assay is provided to save analysis time, labor, and reagent with same efficiency with individual vibriocidal assay. CONSTITUTION: A method for duplex vibriocidal assay for simultaneously measuring vibriocidal titer for each serotype of a mixture vaccine comprises: a step of vaccinating a vaccinee with vibrio mixture vaccine and collecting serum from the vaccine; a step of inactivating a complement and diluting the serum; a step of preparing an antibiotic-resistant strain against each subject vibrio strain of the mixture vaccine; a step of mixing the serum, each antbiotic-resistant strain, and complement to prepare a mixture; a step of a medium containing antibiotic corresponding to the antibiotic-resistant strain; a step of inoculating the mixture and culturing each; and a step of measuring vibriocidal antibody titer defined by the reciprocal of serum dilution inhibiting bacterial growth by 50%.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an agent for preventing or inhibiting the formation of a biofilm by bacteria including lipoteichoic acid or a derivative of the same. Also, disclosed is a method for preventing or inhibiting the formation of a biofilm comprising a step of contacting an agent for preventing or inhibiting the formation of a biofilm with bacteria. The agent of the present invention can be mass produced through bacteria derivation and does not cause resistance against bacteria so as to effectively control the formation of a biofilm. Accordingly, the agent can be widely used in home, environment, medical, and industrial fields when the formation of a biofilm by bacteria is needed to be controlled. The agent can also be used to prevent or treat related diseases.

CONSTITUTION: A duplex vibriocidal assay comprises: a step of inoculating mixed vibrio vaccine to human body or animal to obtain serum from a vaccinated person; a step of inactivating complement from the serum and diluting; a step of mixing the serum, vibrio strain, and complement to prepare a mixture; a step of inoculating the mixture to a medium and culturing; a step of measuring vibriocidal titer. The vibrio strain is V. parahaemolyticus, Non-O1 V. cholerae, V. vulnificus, or V. cholerae such as V. cholerae O1 Inaba, V. cholerae O1 Ogawa, or V. cholerae O139.
