본 발명에 따른 미디어 가치 향상 장치는, 기-부호화된 미디어 데이터의 전부 또는 일부를 복호화하는 미디어 복호화부, 미디어 데이터를 분석하여 미디어 데이터의 부가가치 또는 품질을 향상시키기 위한 보조정보를 생성하는 보조정보 생성부 및 보조정보를 부호화하는 부호화부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명의 미디어 가치 향상 장치는 콘텐츠를 소비하는 단말기에게 기-부호화된 미디어 데이터와 함께, 미디어 데이터의 부가가치 또는 품질을 향상시키기 위한 보조정보를 부호화하여 전송하는 것을 특징으로 한다.

본 발명은 멀티미디어 통신 시스템에서 장면 구성 정보 송신 장치에서 장면 구성 정보를 송신하는 방법에 있어서, 미디어 속성 정보와 시공간 정보를 포함하는 장면 구성 정보를 생성하는 과정과, 상기 장면 구성 정보를 송신하는 과정을 포함하며, 상기 미디어 속성 정보와 상기 시공간 정보는 별도의 형태로 분리되어 있음을 특징으로 한다.

본 발명이 제공하는 멀티미디어 데이터 패킷을 송신하는 방법은, 네트워크 엔터티로부터 상향 네트워크 추상화 계층 정보(B-NAL) 정보를 수신하는 과정과, 전송할 멀티미디어 데이터에 관한 하향 네트워크 추상화 계층(T-NAL) 정보를 생성하는 과정과, 상기 T-NAL 정보를 포함하는 멀티미디어 데이터 패킷을 생성하는 과정과, 상기 B-NAL 정보를 고려하여 상기 생성된 멀티미디어 데이터 패킷을 상기 네트워크 엔터티로 송신하는 과정을 포함한다.

Provided is a method for performing hierarchical B picture-based coding on a video sequence using the structure of adaptively divided group of pictures (GOP). The method includes the steps of, for each predefined 2N frame-sized group of pictures (GOP) of the video sequence, (a) encoding the 2N frame-sized GOP of the video sequence based on each of the different GOP sizes from the maximum size, 2N, to the minimum size, 2M (M is an integer between 1 and N) and obtaining different values between frames reconstructed after the encoding is performed and frames after the hierarchical B-picture prediction is performed, based on each of the different GOP sizes; (b) selecting at least one sub-GOP based on the difference values obtained by encoding the 2N frame-sized GOP of the video sequence based on each of the different GOP sizes; and (c) generating a bitstream by encoding the 2N-frame-sized GOP based on the at least one selected sub-GOP. Thereby, the hierarchical B picture-based video coding is performed by adaptively dividing the GOP size based on performance and thereby obtains high coding efficiency.

PURPOSE: A device for providing a 3D service by interlinking a separately transmitted additional image with a reference image transmitted in real time and a method thereof are provided to form a high definition 3D service by inserting a signaling plan for a reference relation between two images and time information. CONSTITUTION: A real time reference image stream is decoded as a reference image(10) through a reference image generator(130). The real time reference image stream is delivered to a 3D play unit(160). CONSTITUTION: A device forms a signaling table(S110). The signaling table includes stream type information. The stream type information includes the information which directs a stereoscopic image service type. The device transmits image information with signaling table information and image data information(S120). The stream type information includes the stream type of supplementary image which comprises a service compatible stereoscopic image.

A mode prediction according to a direction of an intra predictive mode improving the coding efficiency and a quantification matrix and a scanning application and an application thereof are provided to improve the performance of coding by using a static pattern of DCT coefficients. An encoder predicts an optimum intra mode by determining directivity among nine intra modes. An intra prediction determines whether to directivity between an intra prediction mode of a current block and an intra prediction mode of an adjacent block. If the quantization matrix sharing within an encoder and a decoder and the suitable quantization matrix is selected according to the direct of intra-mode, this matrix is applied to the quantization process.
