Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for optimizing a variable length information message. The apparatus for optimizing a variable length information message according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a weight lightening module for deleting an information field, which expresses additional information, from the variable length information message; and a compression module for receiving the lightened variable length information message from the weight lightening module and for compressing the information field by identifying a compressible information field among fields of the inputted variable length information message.
