CONSTITUTION: A carbazole derivative compound is denoted by chemical formula 1 or 2. The organic electroluminescent device comprises anode, cathode, and light emitting layer and hole injection layer or hole transport layer between the electrodes. The hole injection layer or hole transport layer contains the carbazole derivative of chemical formula 1 or 2. The hole injection layer or hole transport layer contains a compound of chemical formula 1 or 9. The light emitting layer contains tris(8-hydroxyquinolinolato) aluminum as a light emitting host material and fluorescence or the phosphorescence dopant.
