Abstract: PURPOSE: A toothpaste composition containing Opuntia humifusa powder and extract as active ingredients is provided to suppress bacteria causing gingival diseases with antibacterial and antifungal functions, to alleviate inflammation, to remove bad breath, and to enhance gingival and dental health. The liquid additive contains 100 parts by weight of glycerin, 30-35 parts by weight of the Opuntia humifusa extract, 30-35 parts by weight of a mound lily extract, 30-35 parts by weight of kaolin clay, and 5-10 parts by weight of allantoin. The toothpaste composition further contains herb essential oil and a grapefruit seed extract.
