PURPOSE: An image recognizing device for increasing the image recognition rate and a method thereof are provided to increase the image recognition rate by selecting lighting depending on the probability of image recognition. CONSTITUTION: When one of lighting systems(140,150) emits light to a photographing target surface, a control unit(130) receives an image frame from an image sensor(120). The control unit determines a reflected light area for the image frame. If the reflected light area is within the image frame, the control unit changes one of the lighting systems to the other system by controlling a switch(160). According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for detecting an input position on a display unit includes detecting a plurality of first lines and at least a part of second lines crossing the first lines, respectively, from an image obtained by an input device on a display unit, determining a tile of the input device with respect to the display unit from the detected lines, and extracting a unit input region for determining an input position indicated by the input device on the display unit according to the determined tilt.

Disclosed is a display apparatus including a pattern which indicates the position of a pixel on a display panel. Especially, a display apparatus including a pattern in the present invention comprises the pattern including a mark which has the length of more than half of the width of sub-pixels. Therefore, disclosed is a method of detecting the position of the pixel by recognizing a detected pattern, wherein an electronic pen detects the pattern formed on the sub-pixels of the display apparatus through a camera. Accordingly, the detected position of the pixel corresponds to the position pointed by the electronic pen or the position that the electronic pen attempts to input, thereby the detected position is used for particular input or a particular command.

The present invention relates to an optical input device. The optical input device includes: a main body including an image sensor; a plurality of light sources which are provided to the main body and emit light; and a control unit which controls the light emission of the light sources through a pattern received by the image sensor. The light sources selectively emit light according to the local saturation position of the light received by the image sensor.
