Abstract: PURPOSE: A color filter substrate is provided to differently form shapes of color patterns according to transmissivity of light of the color patterns having different colors, thereby improving a display quality. CONSTITUTION: A substrate(100) is comprised. Black matrices(210) are formed on the substrate(100). Color patterns(220,230,240) have different shapes according to differences of light transmissivity. A common electrode(250) is formed on an upper surface including the black matrices(210) and the color patterns(220,230,240). The color patterns(220,230,240) are sequentially formed red, green, and blue color patterns. Grooves(290) are formed in areas including the black matrices(210) between the red color pattern(220) and the adjacent blue color pattern(240).

Abstract: PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to obtain high display capability and prevent short-circuiting of signal lines of adjacent pixels. CONSTITUTION: An LCD has a pixel array in which red, green blue and green pixels are sequentially arranged in a column direction and red and green pixels are alternatively arranged and each blue pixel is arranged for every two pixel columns in a row direction. The blue pixel is located at the center of four red and green pixels. The LCD includes gate lines(121a) respectively arranged for pixel columns and data lines(171) respectively arranged for pixel rows. The gate lines transmit scan signals or gate signals to the pixels, and the data lines transmit video or data signals to the pixels. Each of the pixels includes a pixel electrode(190) and a thin film transistor having a gate electrode(123) connected to a corresponding gate line, a source electrode(173) connected to a corresponding data line, and a drain electrode(175) connected to a corresponding pixel electrode.
