A method for photographing a person in an apparatus including a camera comprises the steps of: detecting the person in an image acquired by the camera in a photographing mode; inspecting an error by determining whether the detected person is within a subject recognition region; when a portion or the whole of the person is out of the subject recognition region upon the inspection of the error, generating an error alert including direction information for guiding the person to move to the subject recognition region; and storing an image outputted from the camera when the person is located within the subject recognition region upon the inspection of the error.
