Abstract: PURPOSE: A block enciphering device for a high-speed offset code book mode is provided to perform an encryption process while transceiving packets, in order to overlap a transmission or a receiving time and an encryption time, thereby minimizing a delayed time. CONSTITUTION: An FIFO(104) receives/stores input data for encryption or decryption, and outputs the input data as packets. A control unit(102) receives size information of the input data, controls the input data so as to be outputted as the packets, and controls an offset code book mode for enciphering or deciphering the input data while transmitting or receiving the data. An exception processing unit(120) transmits received header information of the packets to the control unit(102), decides whether an exception occurs, and outputs information relative to the exception to the control unit(102). A crypto-processing unit(130) generates/stores an offset code book and a tag/message authentication code, and enciphers/deciphers the packets in the offset code book mode by receiving an encryption key. An output unit receives the enciphered or the deciphered packets, and outputs the received packets.
