Abstract:
본 발명은 인터넷 프로토콜을 기반한 이동통신시스템에서 서비스를 제공하는 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. IMS 네트워크에서 수신 측 단말이 기존 호를 새로운 호로 변경하는 경우, 호 변경 요청에 수신 번호가 포함되어 있지 않더라도 네트워크 엔터티가 기존 호의 발신 번호를 호 변경 요청을 위한 수신 번호로 설정한다. 이와 같이 하면 기존 호의 발신 번호가 수신 측 단말에게 알려지지 않은 경우에도 발신 측 단말에게 호 변경 요청을 보낼 수 있다. 또한 발신 측 단말이 동일 번호를 다른 단말과 공유하는 경우, 발신 단말 측 네트워크에서 기존 호의 발신 정보를 이용해 호 변경 요청을 기존 발신 단말로 전달한다. 본 발명은 가상 사설망(VPN)에서 게이트웨이의 IP 주소를 이용한 이동 단말의 통신 방법 및 장치에 대한 것이다. 이동 단말이 가상 사설망에 접속하면서 홈 에이전트(HA)에 이동 IP 등록을 수행하여 홈 주소를 요청할 때, 가상 사설망에서 지역 에이전트(FA)의 역할을 담당하는 게이트웨이가 상기 이동 단말을 대신하여 이동 IP 등록을 수행하고 상기 홈 에이전트(HA)로부터 상기 가상 사설망에서 사용되는 상기 이동 단말의 홈 주소를 동적으로 할당받는다. 이러한 본 발명은 가상 사설망에서 이동 단말의 이동 IP 등록을 위해 요구되는 주소들의 개수를 줄이고, 이동 인터넷의 이용을 위한 IP-in-IP 터널과 가상 사설 망 이용을 위한 IPsec 터널이 중복되지 않도록 하여 패킷 전송 오버헤드를 감소시킨다. 가상 사설망(VPN), IPsec, 이동성, Mobile IPv4, FA-CoA, SA

A method and an apparatus for providing a service in an IP(Internet Protocol)-based mobile communication system are provided to shorten a call processing time by avoiding repeated AS calling and simplify subscription information stored in an HSS(Home Subscriber Server) and an S-CSCF(Serving-Call Session Control Function). A receiving unit(602) receives a call request message including call leg information from a CSCF(611) and receives service subscription information from an HSS(610). A determining unit(603) checks the call leg information to determine a network from which the call request message has been received. A selecting unit(604) selects services corresponding to origination side or reception side terminal among the service subscription information. A service processing unit(605) performs processing corresponding to the selected services, and a transmitting unit(606) transmits a call request message or a response message to the CSCF.

본 발명은 패킷 교환 기반의 네트워크에서, 코어 네트워크 개체(CN)들 간의 3계층(L3) 핸드오버를 수행하는 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 구 RAN을 통해 구 CN에 접속하는 단말이 신 CN에 속하는 신 RAN으로 이동함에 따라, 상기 구 RAN에서 상기 단말로부터 셀 관련 정보를 포함하는 측정 보고 메시지를 전송하면, 상기 구 RAN 혹은 상기 신 RAN은 상기 단말에 대해 CN들 간의 3계층 핸드오버를 수행할지를 판단한다. 상기 CN들간의 핸드오버를 수행할 것으로 판단되면, 상기 신 RAN과 상기 신 E-CN 사이에 터널을 설정하고, 상기 신 RAN이 상기 단말의 이동을 감지함에 따라 상기 구 RAN으로 2계층 핸드오버 완료 메시지를 전송한다. 상기 신 RAN으로 이동한 상기 단말이 상기 신 CN에서 사용할 새로운 IP 주소를 획득하고, 상기 신 RAN을 통해 상기 구 RAN으로 상기 신 CN으로의 핸드오버를 완료하였음을 지시하는 3계층 핸드오버 완료 지시 메시지를 전송하면, 상기 구 RAN이 상기 3계층 핸드오버 완료 지시 메시지에 응답하여, 버퍼링된 데이터 패킷들을 상기 신 E-RAN으로 포워딩하고 상기 단말에 대한 컨텍스트 정보를 삭제한다. 상기 3계층 핸드오버 완료 지시 메시지를 전송한 이후 상기 단말이 상기 신 RAN을 통해 상기 신 CN과 통신한다. A method and an apparatus for communication between an IMS UE and a CSI UE are provided to bind a call/session request having a different identifier via a different domain into one to transmit the call/session request to a legacy IMS(Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem) UE, thereby enabling multi-session communication between a CSI(Combination of CS and IMS Services) UE and the legacy IMS UE. A method for communication between a first UE(400) and a second UE(414) comprises the following steps of: allowing a corresponding AS(Application Server)(412) through a voice call associated domain, to which the first UE belongs, to receive a first call request message including a first identifier of the first UE for requesting a voice call service from the first UE(416~422); allowing the AS to acquire and store the second identifier of the first UE for use at a packet exchange service in correspondence to the first identifier; transmitting the first call request message to the second UE through a packet exchange associated domain and providing the voice call service between the first and second UEs(432); allowing the AS to receive a second call request message including the second identifier through the packet exchange associated domain, to which the first UE belongs, for requesting the packet exchange service from the first UE during the voice call service; allowing the AS to generate a combined call request message requesting the voice call service and the packet exchange service together in response to the second call request message; and transmitting the combined call request message to the second UE and providing a combination service of the voice call service and the packet exchange service between the first and second UEs(446).

A method and a system for informing an application server whether a CSI(Combined CS call and IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) session) terminal, which can communicate with a VoIP terminal, can use a CS(Circuit Switched) service are provided to enable an application server, receiving a call request which includes a real-time service through an IMS domain from a VoIP terminal, to flexibly process the real-time service according to the present network of a CSI terminal so that the CSI terminal can smoothly communicate with the VoIP terminal even in a specific network where a CS domain is not available. After registration for an IMS domain, a CSI terminal receives a subscription message from an application server(402,404). Based on the subscription message, the CSI terminal confirms an available domain at the present location, and judges whether the confirmed CS domain can be used(406,408). In case the CS domain cannot be used, the CSI terminal transmits a response message to inform the application server that it is impossible to use the CS domain. Then, under control of the application server, the CSI terminal executes both real-time services and non-real time services by using IMS sessions(412).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing handover between core network entities in a packet switched-based network are provided to perform rapid L3 handover by simplifying a procedure for L2 handover. When a terminal connected with an old CN(Core Network) through an old RAN(Radio Access Network) moves to a new RAN belonging to a new CN, the old RAN transmits a measurement report message including cell related information received from the terminal. It is checked whether to perform L3 handover between CNs by the old RAN or the RAN. When it is determined to perform handover between the CNs, a tunnel is established between the new RAN and the new E(Enhanced)-CN, and as the new RAN senses the movement of the terminal, it transmits a L2 handover complete message to the old RAN. Upon moving into the new RAN, the mobile terminal obtains a new IP(Internet Protocol) address to be used in the new CN, and transmits a L3 handover complete indication message informing that handover to the new CN has been completed to the old RAN through the new RAN. In response to the L3 handover complete indication message, the old RAN forwards buffered data packets to the new E-RAN and deletes context information regarding the terminal. And then, the terminal communicates with the new CN through the new RAN.

A method for handover between CN entities in a packet-switched based network and an apparatus thereof are provided to notify a UE that L3 handover will be performed after L2 handover by previously supplying the UE with information necessary to perform the L3(Layer 3) handover between CNs through an L2 signaling message exchanged for the L2 handover between RANs, thereby providing fast L3 handover by omitting an additional step for acquiring control information necessary for the UE to perform the L3 handover. A method for handover between CN(Core Network) entities in a packet-switched based network comprises the following steps. A handover request message is sent from an old RAN(Radio Access Network) to a new RAN when a UE(User Equipment) connected to an old CN through the old RAN moves to the new RAN belonging to a new CN. The new RAN obtains a new IP(Internet Protocol) address for the UE from the new CN in response to the handover request message. A handover command message including the new IP address is sent from the new RAN to the old RAN. The old RAN inserts address information of the new RAN into the handover command message and transmits the handover command message to the UE. The UE performs handover between the RANs in response to the handover command message, communicates with the old CN through the new RAN(515), performs the handover between the CNs in response to the new IP address included in the handover command message, and then communicates with the new CN through the new RAN.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting User Equipment (UE) capability information required for provisioning of a service to a network before a UE requests the service are provided. Before an outgoing or incoming call setup is requested for the UE, a signaling connection is established between the UE and a core network (CN) node to which the UE belongs. After the signaling connection is established, a message including UE capability information of the UE is received and stored for use when the call setup is requested.
