PURPOSE: An image processing method for brush effect process and display device applying the same are provided to process brush effect about a pixel in the use of image data according to the inclusion of a peripheral pixel. CONSTITUTION: A display device selects a first pixel of a processing target pixel(S220). The display device selects a second pixel of neighbor pixels of the first pixel(S240). The display device performs brush effect processing of the first pixel in the use of selected image data(S273~S286). The image data is selected according to include the first pixel and the second pixel.

PURPOSE: A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to indicate an image by selecting a unit pixel according to time-out. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit(300) creates light and irradiates the light. A display panel(100) comprises a plurality of unit pixels. The display panel indicates a first image by using the light which is irradiated from the backlight unit. A panel driving unit(200) establishes a unit pixel group which is different with total pixel amounts of the first image. The panel driving unit diversifies each pixel value of the first image and applies to the unit pixel. The panel driving unit differently selects the unit pixel among the unit pixel groups according to time-out and drives the unit pixel. One unit pixel group comprises a first sub group and a second sub group.

A frame counter(210) counts a synchronizing signal. The frame counter detects the period of the frame. A mask generating unit(220) generates a mask from each frame. A high definition image display and an FRC(Frame Rate Conversion) method thereof are provided to convert a frame rate by effectively processing mass data caused by a high resolution of the high definition image display by using plural FRC circuits, thereby providing a more clear screen. An image processing unit(100) processes an inputted signal. A first FRC(Frame Rate Conversion) unit(200) receives the image signal from the image processing unit, and processes a part of frame data of the image data to generate first interpolation data. A second FRC unit(300) processes the other part of the frame data of the image signal to generate second interpolation data, and outputs the second interpolation data to the first FRC unit. PURPOSE: A frame rate converting device and method are provided to reduce the capacity of a line memory by sharing the line memory for storing video data required for motion estimation and motion compensation. CONSTITUTION: A frame rate converting device obtains a motion vector with respect to the second frame based on the first frame and forms the third frame interpolated between the first and second frames based on the motion vector to vary a frame rate. The frame rate converting device includes a motion estimator(570) for calculating the motion vector with respect to the second frame on the basis of the first frame, a motion compensator(580) for constructing video data for the third frame based on the first frame and the motion vector, a selector(530) for alternately selecting the motion estimator and the motion compensator, and a line memory(540) for selectively storing video data constructing the first and second frames and applying the video data to one of the motion estimator and the motion compensator in response to selection of the selector.
