PURPOSE: A communication system using relay terminals and a communication method thereof are provided to group the relay terminals adaptively according to each relay capability. CONSTITUTION: A cellular communication system includes a base station(710), a target terminal(730), and plural relay stations(MS A,MS B,MS C,MS D). The relay stations cooperates with the base station or target terminal, relays uplink data or downlink data through the cooperation, and forms at least one group.

A cell coverage control method and a system thereof for controlling the cell coverage of the subject cell based on the neighbor status information are provided to control the cell coverage of the adjacent node due to controlling the cell coverage of the subject cell. A state information generator(210) produces status information considering one among the cell coverage or the traffic load of the object cell. A neighbor status information recognition part(220) recognizes the neighbor status information considering the cell coverage or the traffic load of the adjacent node. A cell coverage controller(230) controls the cell coverage of the subject cell based on the status information and neighbor status information.

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for controlling measurement report of a user device in a communication system are provided to efficiently use communication resources. CONSTITUTION: A controller(505) establishes one or more condition in order to transmit a measurement report to a serving base station. The controller establishes a target list for transmitting the measurement report to the serving base station when at least one or more condition is satisfied. The controller controls the transmitting part(515) in order to transmit the environmental setting information to terminals in a service area.
Abstract:
A method of controlling a station operation mode and a system thereof are provided to compare distance from the first communication station to the second communication station with a threshold distance to determine the operating mode of the second communication station, thereby properly determining an operating mode. A distance information generator(310) produces distance information by measuring distance to the second communication station from the first communication station. A distance information comparison unit(320) compares the predetermined threshold distance with the distance information. An operating mode determining unit(330) determines an operating mode of the second communication station with an active mode or an idle mode based on the comparison result of the distance information comparison unit.

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for distinguishing a physical cell identifier in a wireless communication system are provided to allocate an efficient PCID(Physical Cell IDentifier) by using a code reuse pattern. CONSTITUTION: A controller(710) obtains a PCID list from a server. The controller determines one or more candidate PCIDs from the PCID list according to a PCID allocation condition. A transceiver(720) measures the strength of a radio signal about cells that use one or more candidate PCIDs. A PCID selecting unit(730) selects one or more PCIDs by using the reception signal strength of cells.

PURPOSE: A method and a device for managing an adjacent base station in a communication system are provided to add another base station to an adjacent base station list through a penalty list, thereby suppressing an operation that another base station is added or removed to and from the adjacent base station list. CONSTITUTION: A serving base station registers a specific adjacent base station in a base station penalty list(213). The serving base station informs a communication terminal of base station penalty list deletion of the adjacent base station(223). The communication terminal searches the adjacent base station(227). The communication terminal reports the searched adjacent base station to the serving base station(229). The serving base station adds the adjacent base station to an adjacent base station list in consideration of the base station penalty list(231).
