Abstract: PURPOSE: A pen input device of a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to improve accuracy by compensating for a pen input of the portable terminal including a pen input function. CONSTITUTION: A touch panel(120) generates an input signal according to pen touch. A memory(110) includes an LUT(Look Up Table) storing data in which errors of a pen input are compensated. A control unit(100) senses a pen touch input coordinate of the touch panel and compensates for pen input errors by extracting the compensated data of the LUT corresponding to an input coordinate value. A display unit(130) displays the compensated pen input signal. The control unit includes a coordinate sensing unit sensing the pen input coordinate; a compensated data extraction unit extracting the compensated data corresponding to the input coordinate in the LUT; and a compensation reflection unit generating the compensated pen input signal by reflecting the compensated data to the input coordinate.
