Abstract: A color filter substrate, a method for manufacturing the same, and an LCD are provided to reduce defects, such as gravity gaps or bubble-type voids, by forming a plurality of grooves in a peripheral area surrounding a display area. A transparent substrate(200) has a display area(D) and a peripheral area(P). A light-shielding member(210) is disposed in the peripheral area and a portion of the display area. Color filters(221,222,223) are formed in the display area. A liquid amount-regulating pattern(230) having one or more concave portion(232) is formed in the peripheral area. The color filters include red, green, and blue color filters. Abstract: An LCD and a method for manufacturing the LCD are provided to minimize the step difference generated at color filters, thereby increasing the transmittance and brightness of an LCD panel, by improving the structure of a black matrix. A photosensitive resin is spread on a transparent insulating substrate(21). The photosensitive resin is pattern-etched using a slit mask, thereby forming a black matrix(22).
