Abstract: Direct/indirect cooling type refrigerator for kimchi and a method for controlling the same are provided to reduce temperature differences of a direct cooling type chamber by controlling a circulation fan according to the temperature differences of the direct cooling type chamber. A kimchi refrigerator comprises a compressor(16), a condenser, a plurality of storing chambers, circulation fans(11,12), and a control unit. The storing chamber is divided into direct cooling type chambers(18,19) and an indirect cooling type chamber(17). The circulation fans are placed in the direct cooling type chamber and circulate cold air in the storing chamber. The control unit controls the circulation fans. A pipe-shaped evaporator winds a periphery surface of the direct cooling type chamber.
