Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical disc drive is provided to stably load discs with different diameters by making a clamping tool support one surface of a disc from an opposite direction of a turntable though the disc drive is installed vertically or horizontally. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a tray(130), a spindle motor(160), and a clamping tool(300). The tray(130) forms a seat for seating a disc and loads or unloads the disc. The spindle motor(160), including a turntable supporting one face of the disc, accesses or gets away from the disc. The clamping tool(300), facing the turntable, supports the other face of the disc. The clamping tool(300) includes a clamper and a recovery member. The clamper accesses the disc by using a magnetic force according as the spindle motor(160) accesses the disc. The recovery member makes the clamper get away from the disc according as the spindle motor(160) gets away from the disc.
