Abstract: A method for setting operation groups of indoor units in a multi-type air conditioner system is provided to set a plurality of indoor units influencing on each other during operation in the same small group to reduce loss and realize optimum cooling effect. A method for setting operation groups of indoor units in a multi-type air conditioner system includes the steps of driving a plurality of the indoor units in sequence(S104), sensing temperature changes of other indoor units adjacent to the operation indoor units(S106), and comparing the sensed temperature change with preset temperature(S108). If the temperature change is lower than the set temperature, the operating indoor units and the indoor units of which temperature change is lower than the designated temperature set in the same operation group(S110).

Abstract: A device and method for controlling compressors of a system air conditioner are provided to measure current values of a plurality of compressors by using a single CT sensor and realize an algorithm for comparing the same with a set maximum allowable current value, thereby diagnosing malfunction of each of the compressors. A device for controlling compressors of a system air conditioner comprises a compressor driving part(130) such as a CT(Current Transformer) sensor for measuring current input to compressors(12a-12c) in operation among a plurality of compressors, and a control part(120) for blocking control signals for the compressors in sequence if the measured current values are higher than an allowable current value. The allowable current value is an allowable maximum input current value according to the number of the operating compressors. The control part re-drives the compressors after a predetermined standby time from the blocking of the control signal by counting time.

Abstract: A device and a method for communication of a module-type air conditioner are provided to control an auxiliary outdoor unit having a communication receiving rate equal to or higher than a preset value to serve as another main outdoor unit if an existing main outdoor unit's communication receiving rate is lower than the preset value, thereby keeping continuous and stable communication even when the existing main outdoor unit has malfunction in the communication. A device for communication of a module-type air conditioner includes a main outdoor unit(10) for carrying out direct communication with an indoor units(18-n), and at least one auxiliary outdoor unit(12-16) carrying out communication with the main outdoor unit. The main and auxiliary outdoor units and the indoor unit are connected to each other by communication lines(21,22). A controller monitors a communication receiving rate of the main outdoor unit, so that the controller controls the auxiliary outdoor unit having a communication rate equal to or higher than a preset value to serve as another main outdoor unit when the communication receiving rate of the main outdoor unit is lower than the preset value.
