PURPOSE: A system for ranging based on a partitioned radio resource is provided to redistribute a wireless resource efficiently according to the ranging success of a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A system for ranging based on a partitioned radio resource includes a terminal classifying unit(210), a wireless resource allocation unit(220), a transmitting unit(230) and a receiving unit(240). The terminal classifying unit classifies terminals related to a base station into plural groups, and the wireless resource allocation unit allocates the wireless resources, which allocated to the base station device, to each group. The transmitting unit transmits the information for the wireless resources, which are allocated to the first group, to the first group. The receiving unit receives a ranging signal from terminals by using the wireless resources allocated to the first group.

An opportunistic packet scheduling apparatus and method in consideration of re-use of radio resources in a broadband wireless communication system using multi-hop relay are provided to improve the balance of distribution of radio resource. A current radio resource efficiency calculating unit(500) initializes the size of a maximum resource allocation in a resource re-use group and the size of resource allocation of each terminal of the resource re-use group by hop by using channel information reported by a user terminal and a repeater according to each terminal path, and calculates the efficiency of current radio resources of a corresponding user terminal path by reflecting whether or not resources used by a different BS(Base Station) or repeater within the resource re-use group. A scheduling priority index calculating unit(502) calculates a scheduling priority index at a ratio of an average radio resource efficiency of each user terminal and the efficiency of the current radio resources. A maximum priority index user selecting unit(504) selects a user terminal with the largest scheduling priority index, and performs scheduling on the selected user terminal.
Abstract:
A scheduling apparatus in a communication system using plural channels and a method thereof are provided to enable scheduling in case of using not only a single channel but also a number of channels, by providing a scheduling method using plural channels in an IEEE 802.16e communication system. According to a scheduling apparatus in a transmitter of a communication system using B channels, M queues(411-1-411-M) store data targeting each of M receivers serviced in the transmitter. A scheduler(413) allocates a receiver for transmitting data through each channel of the M receivers in correspondence to the scheduling scheme predetermined in the time of scheduling.

Abstract:
An opportunistic packet scheduling apparatus and method in a wireless access communication system using multi-hop relay are provided to increase system efficiency and fairness in distributing radio resources by implementing centralized opportunistic scheduling. A current radio resource efficiency calculating unit(401) calculates efficiency values of the current radio resources and outputs the calculated results to a scheduling priority metric calculating unit(403) and an average radio resource efficiency calculating unit(405). The scheduling priority metric calculating unit(403) calculates scheduling priority metric by using an average radio resource efficiency value, and outputs it to a maximum priority metric user selecting unit(407). The average radio resource efficiency calculating unit(405) calculates and updates the average radio resource efficiency value, and outputs the calculated average radio resource efficiency value to the scheduling priority metric calculating unit(403). The maximum priority metric user selecting unit(407) selects a user having the maximum priority metric and outputs state information of the user selected from a user queue to the average radio resource efficiency calculating unit(405).

PURPOSE: A ranging system for transmitting ranging signal to a plurality of base stations by using common ranging resource is provided to simplify a ranging process by transmitting a ranging parameter to a ranging terminal. CONSTITUTION: A receiving unit(410) receives ranging resource assignment information from a connection base station(430). A transmitting unit(420) transmits the ranging signal to ranging base stations. The receiving unit receives ranging parameter which the ranging base station produces from the connection base station. The ranging base station includes a plurality of connection base stations. The receiver receives the list toward the base stations from the access base station. The transmit unit transmits the ranging signal with reference to a list toward the base stations.
