    Abstract: PURPOSE: A catalyst for selective hydrogenation of alkynes to alkenes is provided to rapidly convert alkynes to alkenes by carrying palladium and metal oxide mixtures containing iron and copper in the shell parts of silica particles. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst for selective hydrogenation of alkynes to alkenes includes a process in which palladium and metal oxide mixtures containing iron and copper are carried in the shell pores of silica particles with core-porous shell structures. The molar ratio of copper atoms and iron atoms in the metal oxide mixtures is 1:00.5-2.9. The content of the palladium in the shell pores is in a range between 0.01 and 10 weight%. The content of the metal oxide mixtures in the shell pores is in a range between 0.01 and 10 weight%.
