Abstract: A supported catalyst of the present invention comprises: a metallic oxide carrier including at least one among cerium oxide (CeO_2) and zinc oxide (ZnO); and a catalyst supported by the metallic oxide carrier. The catalyst comprises at least one among metallic oxides of nickel oxide (NiO) and zirconium oxide (ZrO_2). The catalyst is improved in terms of acid-base properties, thereby enabling highly-efficient preparation of dimethyl carbonate from methanol and carbon dioxide.
