    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus of extracting a finger vein feature point are provided to use the bifurcation of a finger vein as a finger vein feature point by calculating radialness. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for extracting a finger vein feature point acquires a finger image from a finger passing through an infrared ray zone(S100). The apparatus removes a background from the acquired finger image(S110), and calculates the radialness in each pixel of the acquired finger vein image(S140). The apparatus extracts the corresponding pixel as the bifurcation of the finger vein feature point(S150). In the corresponding pixel, the calculated radialness is a local maximum value.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for finger vein identification using a mean curvature are provided to extract a more accurate finger vein pattern based on an image of a finger image through the mean curvature. CONSTITUTION: A vein photographing unit(110) photographs a vein of a finger, and a pre-processing unit(120) removes a noise from a finger image. The pre-processing unit splits background regions from the finger image. A finger vein extractor(130) extracts a finger vein pattern from a processed finger image, and a matching unit(140) compares the extracted finger vein pattern with a template pattern of a storage(150).
