Abstract: A channel plasmon waveguide is provided to reduce an effective area by using a surface plasmon polariton induced on the channel of sub-wavelength scale. In a channel plasmon waveguide, a first layer(100) comprises a first hole having a first section width. A second layer(200) comprises a second hole having the second section width smaller than the first section width. The first hole and the second hole are connected. At least a part of the second layer is contacted with the first layer, and a third layer(300) is formed on the first layer, and it contacts with the second hole through the first hole.
