    Abstract: PURPOSE: A resource allocation method for a heterogeneous cell wireless communications system capable of reducing interference between cells and a method thereof are provided to protect users of an adjacent macro base station and maximize channel capacity of a heterogeneous system. CONSTITUTION: An FA(Frequency Assignment) use determination unit(305) detects FAs which an adjacent second type terminal does not use among the FAs used by a first type base station. A sub-channel assigning unit(309) assigns a sub-channel which belongs to one of the FAs which the adjacent second type terminal does not use to a first type terminal. A second type base station assigns the sub-channel for an uplink and a downlink of the second type terminal within the same FA for longer than a predetermined time. A channel sensing unit(303) senses a signal of the adjacent second type terminal in a sub-channel within the FAs used by the first type base station.
