Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided are a solid polyelectrolyte suitable for high capacity lithium sulfur battery, and a method for producing the same which reduce manufacturing time of polyelectrolyte without degrading a capability of polyelectrolyte. CONSTITUTION: The solid polyelectrolyte for lithium-sulfur battery consists of any one of polymer selected from PVC(polyacrylonitride) and PMMA(polymethyl-methacrylate); and any one of plasticizer selected from EC(ethylene carbonate) and PC(propylene carbonate); and a lithium salt for increasing an ion-conductivity. The plasticizer content is 1.40-3.26. The polyelectrolyte is produced by the steps of (i) providing any one of polymer selected from PVC and PMMA; (ii) providing any one of plasticizer selected from EC and PC; (iii) providing a lithium salt for increasing an ion-conductivity; (iv) providing an attritor type of ball mill in order to homogeneously mixing the polymer, plasticizer and lithium salt; (v) mixing the polymer, plasticizer and lithium salt in the ball mill and forming a mixed solution using solvent; and (vi) drying the mixed solution to form a thin film.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided are a high capacity sulfur cathode for lithium secondary battery having excellent discharge capacity, and a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION: The sulfur cathode for lithium battery consists of mixture of an active material consisting of sulfur-based components, and an electrolyte used as battery conducting material and ion conductor. The sulfur cathode comprises 60-80 wt% of sulfur-based components with respect to 100 wt% of the mixture. The sulfur cathode has a discharge capacity of 70% or more of theorical discharge capacity(1675 mAh/sulfur(g)). The sulfur cathode further comprises 5-20 wt% of PEO(polyethylene oxide) and 3-17 wt% of carbon in order to increase physical strength, electrical conductivity, and ion conductivity.
