Abstract: PURPOSE: A wake agitator and a wake agitation method are provided to reduce the fuel cost of a carrier by reducing the drag generated from the carrier whose a rear side is stumpy and to maximize energy efficiency by greatly decreasing the drag without an extra input of the energy. CONSTITUTION: A disturbance apparatus(10) is protruded from a rear corner of an object(1). Many disturbance apparatuses are arranged in a wake agitator to recover the rear pressure by reducing the intensity of a wake to be generated from the rear side of the object. Thereby, the fuel cost of a carrier is reduced. Moreover, the energy efficiency is maximized by reducing the wake without an additional energy input.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A drag reducing device of a carrier with a fixed separation point and a method thereof are provided to reduce fuel consumption by actively decreasing drag force with applying to a bus or a truck at a low cost, and to increase energy efficiency by using a piezoelectric ceramic oscillator. CONSTITUTION: A drag reducing device is used for a carrier(1) having the box type rear part for loading such as a truck or a bus with the fixed separation point, and composed of a vibrating apparatus(10) having a vibration surface(10a) vibrating up and down or right and left around the fixed separation point such as a rear corner of the carrier. The vibrating apparatus comprises a piezoelectric ceramic actuator having a piezoelectric ceramic oscillator installed in the rear corner of the carrier, a blade contacted to the piezoelectric ceramic oscillator and amplified and oscillated by vibration of the end, and a control unit applying alternating current to the piezoelectric ceramic oscillator to vibrate the piezoelectric ceramic oscillator.
