PURPOSE: A novel Exiguobacterium acetylicum WCU292 (KACC91646P) and a composition containing the same for preventing plant diseases are provided to biologically prevent various plant diseases and to activate immune function in a plant. CONSTITUTION: Exiguobacterium acetylicum WCU292 (KACC91646P) prevents plant pathogens including Magnaporthe oryzae, Thanatephorus cucumeris, Botrytis cinerea, Phytophthora infestans, Puccinia recondite, Blumeria graminis f. sp. Hordei, Colletotrichum coccodes, Phytophthora capsici, or Xanthomonas campestris pv. Vesicatoria. A composition for preventing plant diseases contains the strain or a culture thereof.
