Abstract: PURPOSE: A semitransparent type LCD is provided to solve a cost increase problem of a manufacturing process by suggesting a single cap structure to make a liquid phase delay value of a reflection area and a transparent are to be λ/2, λ/4. Abstract: PURPOSE: A viewing angle controllable liquid crystal display device using vertical electric fields and optically isotropic liquid crystal mixtures are provided to avoid the quality deterioration of a device and prevent the lowering of yield rate thereof resulting from a rubbing process. Abstract: A reflective cholesteric liquid crystal color filter is provided to obtain a constant pitch regardless of viewing angles by forming hemispheric shapes on a lower substrate coated with cholesteric liquid crystal. A reflective cholesteric liquid crystal color filter includes a lower substrate(110), a plurality of hemispheric shapes(120), an orientation film, and a cholesteric liquid crystal layer. The lower substrate is a transparent glass substrate. The hemispheric shapes are patterned on the lower substrate by using positive or negative photosensitive material. Diameters, heights, and arrangement of the hemispheric shapes are irregular to prevent a moire phenomenon or a color shift phenomenon due to light interference. The orientation film is formed on the hemispheric shapes. The cholesteric liquid crystal layer is formed on the orientation film.

Abstract: A method for adjusting the viewing angle of an FFS(Fringe-Field Switching) LCD is provided to suitably implement a broad viewing angle and a narrow viewing angle by using two transistors in a pixel so that a vertical electric field and a fringe electric field can be applied to a viewing angle driving region and a pixel driving region respectively. An FFS LCD comprises a lower substrate, the first common electrode(1), an insulated layer, the first pixel electrode(2), the second pixel electrode(3), a liquid crystal layer, an upper substrate, and the second common electrode(4). The first common electrode(1) is patterned on the lower substrate in a plane form. The insulated layer is located between the lower part of the first common electrode(1) and the first and second pixel electrodes(2,3). The first pixel electrode(2) is transversely patterned on a portion of the upper part of the insulated layer in a latticed form. The second pixel electrode(3) is patterned on the other portion of the upper part of the insulated layer in a plane form. The liquid crystal layer, horizontally arranged, is located at the upper parts of the first and second pixel electrodes(2,3). The second common electrode(4) having the same size as the second pixel electrode(3) is patterned on the upper substrate in a plane form.

Abstract: A single gap transflective fringe field switching display is provided to facilitate release of static electricity by forming a polymer resin of an uneven shape only on a reflective area of a lower substrate and forming a reflective electrode of an uneven shape through the patterning of the reflective electrode on the polymer resin. Abstract: 본발명은반투과형액정표시장치에필수적으로사용되는부착형위상지연필름을사용하지않고셀 내부의반사영역에전기장또는자기장을이용하여중합성액정조성물에배향성을형성하여패턴된내장형위장지연필름을사용한반투과형액정표시장지에관한것이다. 본발명은외부에부착형위상지연필름을사용하지않기때문에필름부착으로발생하는정전기발생및 이미지겹침현상등의문제가발생하지않는다. 본발명에따른위상지연필름의제조방법은전기장또는자기장을이용하여중합성액정조성물에배향성을형성시키기때문에배향제층을형성하는공정자체가없고, 결과적으로배향제층에러빙또는광배향하는공정자체를생략할수 있다. 따라서, 본발명의제조방법은종래부착형위상지연필름을사용하는경우에비해간소화된공정라인구축과매우빠른공정속도를구현할수 있으므로제조비용을절감할수 있다. 또한, 반사영역과투과영역이단일셀갭구조이고특히 IPS 모드는화소전극윗 부분을반사영역으로사용하기때문에현재사용되는반투과형제조공정을그대로사용할수 있는장점이있다.
