Abstract: A system and a method for phase unwrapping with improved resolving power in a digital holography are provided to measure a structure of an object accurately and obtain a high calculation speed so that real time measurement is possible. A phase unwrapping system includes: an input unit which receives wrapped phase information including a wrapped phase of each pixel from a phase information image including at least one pixel; a residue detector which detects residue information including a location of at least one residue from the wrapped phase information; a boundary information detector which detects boundary information including at least one boundary by using a phase difference between neighboring pixels from the wrapped phase information; a branch cut detector which detects branch cut information including at least one connecting line connecting at least one residue according to the detected boundary information; and an integrator which integrates the wrapped phase information according to the detected branch cut information.
