Abstract: Provided are a gas barrier film and a manufacturing method thereof capable of easily and economically manufacturing the gas barrier film which controls a refractive index and transparency, in which hardness and strength are improved, and which has an excellent gas barrier effect. The gas barrier film comprises a base material and an organic/inorganic hybrid gas barrier layer having a slope structure formed on the base material. The organic/inorganic hybrid gas barrier layer a net structure including an O-Si-O connection part. The net structure is existed as oxide shape in a gap within the network structure and comprises an organic function group including a carbon atom directly combined with the silicon atom of the O-Si-O connection part and one or more atoms selected among alkali metal, alkali earth metal, transition metal, post transition metal, metalloid, and boron.
