Abstract: A cycloalkenylsilanepolyol derivative which is an environment coupling agent dissolved in water or alcohol is provided to reform the surface of inorganic substance by simple heating without a catalyst and to produce water as by-product in condensation reaction. A cycloalkenylsilanepolyol derivative represented by the chemical formula 1 is prepared by hydrolyzing an organosilane compound represented by the chemical formula 2 with the acetic acid aqueous solution of 0.1-10 weight% at 0-40°C, wherein R is an isomer mixture of 2-cyclopentenyl, 3-cyclohexanyl, 3- or 4-methylcyclo hexa-3-enyl, 3,4-dimethylcyclohexa-3-enyl or bicyclo[2,2,2]octa-5-en-2-yl; and Y is a hydroxyl group, C1~6 alkyl group or ((2- cyclopentenyl) dihydroxy silyl) oxy.
