Abstract: A NOx sensor and a method for calculating the total NOx concentration using the same are provided to calculate the entire concentration of nitrogen oxide. A NOx(Nitrogen Oxide) sensor comprises an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte(10), an oxide detecting electrode formed on the oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte, a noble metal electrode(30), and an electromotive force lead line(40). The electromotive force lead line is extended to the oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte or the oxide detecting electrode, and the noble metal electrode. The oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte and the oxide detecting electrode have at least two surfaces. The concentration of NOx is measured by a voltage measured by applying predetermined current between the oxide detecting electrode and the surfaces.
