    Abstract: PURPOSE: A phosphor is provided to emitting red light with excellent color purity, to enable use as a red-emitting phosphor in an electroluminescent device, and to improve the lifetime of the electroluminescent device. CONSTITUTION: A phosphor has a composition represented by chemical formula 1: ZnS: Cu, Cl, Mn, Te. A method for preparing the phosphor comprises the steps of: mixing copper and chlorine activation zinc sulfate phosphor, manganese metal precursor compound, and tellurium metal precursor compound, and plasticizing the mixture; pulverizing the plasticized materials; and mixing the pulverized material with copper metal, and plasticizing the mixture.
