Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for providing a three-dimensional (3D) image using a mobile broadcast network and a wireless communication network. The method of the present invention includes encoding a left image of a 3D image to the general definition; encoding a right image of the 3D image to the general definition or the high definition; determining quality of the image to be transmitted through a communication network based on the network status information; and transmitting the left image through a broadcast network and transmitting the right image with the determined quality through the communication network.
