Abstract: A method for computing holiday data in an electrical instrument or wattmeter and an apparatus thereof are provided to measure electrical charges by calculating lunar calendar and solar calendar holidays with small memory with a holiday determining function. Database(110) stores holiday data which is encoded to a binary number of solar calendar day information after converting the solar calendar day information into a binary number code. A decoding part(130) extracts encoded holiday data from the database. The decoding part converts the binary number of task to a decimal number based on a predetermined binary number cord table. A holiday determining part(150) determines a holiday of corresponding date based on a month and a day which are converted by the decoding part.
