    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a device for processing satellite ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) transceiving signals at 155-Mbps, are provided to enable the transceiving of 155-Mbps burst mode signals by using the satellite, and to define and implement a 155-Mbps transceiving format for the burst transceiving and afterward TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access). CONSTITUTION: A terrestrial network signal processing unit(100) performs terrestrial network signal processing for ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) signals inputted from an ATM switch, for transmission to a satellite. A satellite signal receiving processing unit(200) processes ATM signals received from the satellite, and outputs the ATM signals to the ATM switch as terrestrial network signals. A transceiving control unit(300) is connected to the processing units(100,200) through buses, and controls the transceiving of ATM cells, then displays a control state. The number of zero(0) and one(1) dually received by bits in a predetermined byte of ATM cell counter, and a value over generality are decided as a received bit value. Residual bits are decided to extract an ATM cell counter value. The ATM cell counter is detected in a QPSK(Quadrature Phase-Shift Keying) demodulator(202), to transmit only IB(Internal Block) in a deframer(203) to an error correction decoder(204). ATM cells decoded in the error correction decoder(204) as much as the ATM cell counter value are delivered to a terrestrial network output ATM buffer(205). Viterbi decoding and interleaving functions are performed by IB blocks received from the error correction decoder(204), and RS(Reed-Solomon) decoding and descrambling functions are performed by the unit of RSB(RS Block). The descrambling-ended ATM cells are delivered to the terrestrial network output ATM buffer(205), and ATM cells accumulated in the buffer(205) are transmitted to a terrestrial network output signal processor(206). ATM cells received by being adjusted to a transceiving speed pre-configured in the terrestrial network signal processor(206) are transmitted to an ATM exchange through an optical fiber and a coaxial cable, with an STM(Synchronous Transfer Mode)-1 or a DS(Digital Signal)-3 protocol.
