Abstract: 본 발명은 이더넷-폰(Ethernet-Passive Optical Network;이하, E-PON이라 한다) 구조에서 ONU의 상향 Request 정보를 상향 이더넷 프레임의 프리엠블(Preamble)에 추가하여 OLT로 전송함으로써 OLT가 계속적으로 ONU의 상태정보를 알 수 있도록 하는 E-PON 구조에서의 ONU Request 전송방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은, 하나의 OLT에 다수의 ONU가 하향 이더넷 프레임을 공유하고 상기 ONU에서 상기 OLT로의 상향 대역폭은 시분할 다중접속(TDMA) 방식으로 OLT가 상기 ONU에게 할당하는 이더넷-폰(E-PON) 구조에서의 ONU Request 전송방법에 있어서, ONU는 OLT로 전달하는 상향 이더넷 데이터 프레임의 프리엠블에 상기 ONU의 상향 Request 정보를 삽입하여 상기 OLT로 전송하고 상기 OLT가 상기 전송되는 상향 이더넷 데이터 프레임의 프리엠블로부터 각 ONU의 Request 정보를 추출하는 것을 특징으로 한다.

Abstract: PON 시스템에서 우선순위를 갖는 가입자 장치에 대한 서비스 제공 방법 및 PON 시스템이 개시된다. Abstract: A MAC master apparatus for executing a multi-point control protocol (MPCP) data in an optical line termination (OLT) of an Ethernet passive optical network (PON) is provided. The MPCP master apparatus includes a CPU interface unit, two or more memory arbitration control units, a SGA table memory, a RTT table memory, a static grant generation unit, a dynamic grant generation unit, a static grant queue, a dynamic grant queue, a sending message queue, a sending multiplexing unit, a time setting unit, a receiving window generation unit, an upstream grant queue, a received demultiplexing unit, a report queue and a received message queue. Therefore, any frame, including MPCP frames from/to the CPU can be sent or received, and a grant can be allocated statically according to a setting or dynamically according to a report from the ONUs.

Abstract: A method of controlling data transmission in an Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) and an apparatus thereof are provided. Transmission permission messages using a mode of bandwidth allocation are queued in a queuing unit according to the types of the transmission permission messages. A transmission time duration of upstream data is defined for each of the transmission permission messages queued in the queuing unit. Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for transceiving a variable-length packet is provided to enable a transmission circuit to know length of a packet to be transmitted before transmitting packet data, and to enable a CPU to know the length of the packet before reading the packet data, thereby easily programming software for realizing a variable-length packet transceiving function. CONSTITUTION: If an outer CPU tries to transmit a variable length packet, the CPU transmits the packet to a transmission data FIFO, so that the transmission data FIFO can store the packet(S210). The transmission data FIFO stores length information of the received packet in a transmission size FIFO(S220). As soon as size information is written in the transmission size FIFO, a transmission packet counter storage increases a transmission packet counter by 1, and informs a transmission circuit that the one packet is written(S230). The transmission circuit firstly reads the length information of the packet from the transmission size FIFO, and reads the substantial packet from the transmission data FIFO (S240). Abstract: PURPOSE: An ONU(Optical Network Unit) request transmission method in an Ethernet-phone structure is provided to be continuously informed on status of an ONU from an uplink data frame by adding uplink request information of the ONU to the preamble of an Ethernet frame. CONSTITUTION: A MAC layer(21) has a MAC control function of IEEE802.3 and additionally includes an MPCP(Multi-Protocol Control Protocol), a transmission control function of an E-PON(Ethernet-Passive Optical Network). An RS(Reconciliation Sublayer)(23) performs a P2PE(Point-to-Point Emulation) function and an OAM(Operation and Management) function for allowing ONUs belonging to an OLT(Optical Line Terminal) domain to communication with each other, and an information insertion/extraction function of the ONU. The ONU performs a frame filtering function using a physical ID and a MAC preamble recovery function. The physical ID is assigned by an Ethernet PON OLT. An RS(26) compares a physical ID of a preamble of a frame received from an OLT and its own physical ID, and sends it to an upper layer(25) or discards it according to a mode of the received frame. When the ONU receives grant for transmission from the OLT, it indicates its request information in a preamble of a subscriber Ethernet frame to be transmitted to the OLT and transmits it. the OLT collects request information of each ONU from the preambles of Ethernet frames and transmits it to a MAC control layer(24).
