Abstract: The method is for an operator to read state variables and parameters of process and to correct the state variables and parameters. The self tuning advanced controller comprises a normal mode for controlling the actuator of process, a read mode for reading out state variables and parameters of the controller, and a set mode for changing state variables. The set operation is started by a correct input code and the variables are selected by the up/down key and enter key.

Abstract: The subprocessor of a self tuning controller processes control algorithm by communicating with a host processor. The method comprises: (A) designating a stack setting ROM-less mode and wait state, and resetting an interrupt flag; (B) setting I/O ports, initializing universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter and checking memory to initialize a sub-processor; (C) receiving a second interrupt and UART interrupt to receive a set value and a manipulated value of a main processor; and (D) executing control algorithm according to the set value and the manipulated value.

Abstract: The number of self-tuning advanced controller is controlled by one supervisor computer using the communication method. The method comprises: (A) intializing communication interrupt of a supervisor computer to match communication parameters of a supervisor computer and controllers; (B) making CRC table for detecting transmission errors; (C) displaying modes on a display; (D) selecting mode using keyboard of the computer; and (E) transmitting response data from the controllers to the computer according to received instruction modes. Down loading and up loading speed is decided by changing latch register value of communication interrupt and the controller to load data is determined by designating address of the controller.
