Abstract:
PURPOSE: A call release and reconnection method in the multimedia satellite communication system is provided to increase the success rate of call connection setup in the event of a call reconnection setup request from a set top box for data communication with a central station. CONSTITUTION: A call connection request data is received from a set top box(ST1), a central station processor, based on an error estimation value extrinsically received with the call connection request data, calculates an error compensation value and stores it in a first error information storage unit(ST2). The central station processor assigns communication resources to the set top box and carries out ordinary data communication with the set top box(ST3). In process of data communication, if a call release request data is received from the set top box(ST4), the central station processor sends a response message for the call release request data to the set top box(ST5). In case that a resource release request data is received from the set top box(ST6), the central station processor sends the error information stored in the first error information storage unit to the set top box in addition to a response message for the resource release request data(ST7).

위성 통신 시스템에서 강우감쇠 데이터 및 강우강도 데이터를 수집 및 관리하는 시스템이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 시스템은 위성 비콘 신호를 송신하는 위성 송신기, GPS(Global Positioning System) 신호를 송신하는 GPS, 위성 송신기로부터 위성 비콘 신호가 수신된 경우, 위성 비콘 신호에 대한 강우감쇠 데이터를 생성하고, 강우감쇠의 유효경로 길이 내에서 강우강도 데이터를 생성하며, GPS 신호로부터 시간 정보를 추출하여 강우감쇠 데이터 및 상기 강우강도 데이터에 부가하는 적어도 하나 이상의 데이터 수집 장치 및 시간 정보가 부가된 상기 강우감쇠 데이터 및 강우강도 데이터를 데이터 수집 장치로부터 수신하여 관리하는 데이터 관리 장치를 포함한다.

PURPOSE: An interactive satellite communication system and an operating method thereof are provided to reduce the cost for constructing the system and to use various types of service with a high-speed satellite channel by using the existing ISP(Internet Service Provider) as a ground return channel. CONSTITUTION: A satellite communication system comprises a center station(110), a terminal station(111) and a satellite(112). The center station(110) comprises a multimedia server(113), a satellite remote platform(114), a web/mail server(115), a proxy server(116), a satellite transmitting data processor(117), a center station controller(118), a system operation managing unit(119) and a router(120). The satellite communication system connects with the satellite(112) and the terminal station(111) to supply the terminal station with various multimedia services. The terminal station(111) comprises a set-top box(123) and a TV/PC(124), connects with the center station(110) via an ISP(122), and receives various types of multimedia services via the satellite(112).

본 발명은 위성 인터넷망에서 단방향 위성 채널을 이용하여 소프트웨어를 단말국으로 제공하는 위성 채널을 이용한 소프트웨어 배포시스템과 배포방법에 관한 것이다. 이러한 본 발명의 소프트웨어 배포시스템은, 중심국은, 전송하고자 하는 소프트웨어를 패킷으로 분할하고, 분할된 패킷들을 IP(Internet Protocol) 데이터그램(datagram) 형태로 재구성하는 소프트웨어 전송 서버와, 상기 소프트웨어 전송 서버로부터 수신된 패킷들을 MPEG-2 트랜스포트 패킷으로 재구성하는 전송부를 포함하고, 단말국은, 상기 전송부로부터 수신된 MPEG-2 트랜스포트 패킷을 IP(Internet Protocol) 데이터그램으로 재구성하는 셋톱박스와, 상기 셋톱박스로부터 수신된 IP 데이터그램을 패킷으로 재구성한 후 에러 유무를 판단하고, 수신된 패킷들을 소프트웨어로 재구성하는 개인용 컴퓨터를 포함한다.

PURPOSE: A subscriber software version confirmation system and an automatic software upgrade system thereby in the multimedia satellite communication system are provided to upgrade automatically in case that the latest software version provided to a subscriber and a software version the subscriber holds are not in accordance. CONSTITUTION: A set top box(4) is comprised of an RF unit(41), an MPEG-2 TS receiving unit(42), a CDMA transmitting unit(43), a processor(44), a network interface card(45), and a service information unit(46). The RF unit(41) carries out frequency down conversion and low noise amplification for a high frequency signal sent from a central station. The MPEG-2 TS receiving unit(42) demodulates an MPEG-2 TS packet received from the central station. The CDMA transmitting unit(43) executes CDMA conversion and modulation for data to be transmitted to the central station. The processor(44) controls so that a data received through the MPEG-2 TS receiving unit(42) can be transmitted to a personal computer(5). The network interface card(45) executes interfacing between the set top box(4) and the personal computer(5). The service information storage unit(46) stores service information, such as software version information. The personal computer(5) is composed of a subscriber program(51), a PNM(PC Network Monitor) program(52) and a version information storage unit(53).

PURPOSE: A system and a method for operating a multi cast service by using a satellite channel are provided to supply multi cast service of interactive or simplex to a terminal station by using the satellite channel in a satellite internet network. CONSTITUTION: An operator forms a web page in a managing system of multi cast service for processing the join/release of multi cast service for storing a multi cast client program. Then, the operator allots multi cast service information and program identifier/table identifier and program number needed to transfer the multi cast service information to a source managing system. Then, the source managing system transfers multi cast service register information to a transferring unit for the transferring unit to store the multi cast service transferring information. Moreover, the source managing system transfers the multi cast service register information to each terminal station. Therefore, the register of new multi cast service is completed.

PURPOSE: An integrated collecting device for rainfall attenuation or rainfall strength data in a satellite system is provided to syntagmatically process collected data by collecting the data in real time. CONSTITUTION: A remote measurement device(110) includes a remote measuring unit, a data processing unit, and a satellite terminal antenna control unit. The remote measurement device measures the rainfall attenuation amount of a satellite signal according to rainfall strength in a selected point. The remote measurement device generates rainfall strength or rainfall attenuation measurement data based on the measured rainfall attenuation amount. The remote measurement device transmits the generated rainfall strength or rainfall attenuation measurement data to a satellite repeater. 본 발명은 위성 인터넷망에서 위성 채널을 이용하여 단방향 또는 양방향의 멀티캐스트 서비스를 단말국으로 제공하는 위성 채널을 이용한 멀티캐스트 서비스 운용시스템 및 운용방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 멀티캐스트 서비스 운용시스템은; 중심국은, 서비스를 제공하기 위해, 해당 서비스 내용을 멀티캐스트 IP 주소(Internet Protocol Address)를 이용하여 IP 데이터그램(datagram)으로 변환하는 멀티캐스트 서비스 제공 서버와, 멀티캐스트 IP 주소를 위해 할당된 프로그램 식별자(PID: Program Identifier)/테이블 식별자(TID: Table Identifier)를 이용하여, 상기 IP 데이터그램을 수신하여 트랜스포트 스트림 패킷(Transport Stream Packet)으로 재구성하는 전송부를 포함하고; 단말국은, 가입자가 특정 멀티캐스트 서비스를 제공받고자 하는 경우 해당 멀티캐스트 서비스에 대한 정보를 생성하는 가입자의 개인용 컴퓨터(PC)와, 상기 개인용 컴퓨터가 제공하는 정보를 이용하여 멀티캐스트 서비스를 수신하기 위한 PID/TID를 설정하고, 상기 설정된 PID/TID에 따라 상기 중심국의 전송부로부터 수신되는 트랜스포트 스트림 패킷을 IP 데이터그램을 재구성하는 셋톱박스를 포함한 것을 특징으로 한다.
