Abstract: The present invention relates to a single carrier-based hybrid LDC system apparatus, comprising the following an LDC unit encoding at least one symbol including a CP using a hybrid LDC technique; a training sequence generation unit generating a training sequence with a CAZAC sequence encoded into a STBC; a transmission device including a frame unit for forming one transmission frame with a data stream encoded into symbols by the LDC unit and the CAZAC sequence encoded into the STBC by the training sequence generation unit; a separation unit separating the CAZAC sequence encoded into the STBC from the data stream of the transmission frame transmitted from the transmission device; a channel estimation unit estimating a channel from a frequency domain using the CAZAC sequence separated by the separation unit; and a reception device including a symbol recovery unit recovering the symbol encoded by the hybrid LDC technique using information on the channel estimated by the channel estimation unit. According to the present invention, the single carrier-based hybrid LDC system can transmit data at a transmission rate higher than that of an existing single carrier system, so can be adopted in a next generation broadcast system, or a 3DTV or UDTV broadcast system requiring a high transmission throughput.

Abstract: A Signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) measuring apparatus in a multiple antenna high data rate packet transmission system measures signal energy to interference energy ratio by using pilot signals that are orthogonal to each other between antennas signals and used by a receiver for separating the signals transmitted from all of the transmitting antennas from each other. The SIR measuring apparatus comprises a signal energy measuring unit, an interference energy measuring unit and a SIR measuring unit. The signal energy measuring unit measures signal energy by synthesizing after coherently integrating and non-coherently integrating values that are obtained by correlating a received signal with pilot patterns equal to the pilot patterns of transmitted antenna signals, respectively. The interference energy measuring unit measures interference energy by coherently integrating and non-coherently integrating after correlating the received signal with another pattern that is orthogonal to the pilot patterns of the transmitted antenna signals but is not transmitted. The SIR measuring unit measures SIR by using the measured signal energy and the measured interference energy.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring an SIR(Signal-to-Interference Ratio) in a multi-antenna high-speed packet transmission system is provided to measure an SIR using pilot signals, which are orthogonal between antenna signals. CONSTITUTION: The first antenna pattern correlator(503) executes correlation for Rx signals, received through an orthogonal code and scramble code correlator(502) from a baseband Rx signal processing part in a receiver, using the same pattern as a pilot symbol pattern outputted from the first antenna pattern generator of a transmitter. The second antenna pattern correlator(506) executes correlation for Rx signals, received through the orthogonal code and scramble code correlator(502) from the baseband Rx signal processing part, using the same pattern as a pilot symbol pattern outputted from the second antenna pattern generator. The Rx signals are inputted to the first and second antenna signal combiners(509) through coherent integrators(504,507) and I/Q squarer/combiners(505,508). The first and second antenna signal combiners(509) execute non-coherent combining for the signals and outputs Rx signal energy(510).
