    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a process of preparing paper which allows low damage of cotton fibers during paper making, is improved in the folding endurance in the cross direction, has excellent dimension stability in high pressure printing and is improved in printability. CONSTITUTION: A cotton yarn is beaten until a beating degree becomes 18 to 20 degree SR and then refined until a beating degree becomes 40 to 60 degree SR to produce pulp having a fine fiber content of 40% or less, which is added with 5 to 10 parts by weight of an organic/inorganic filler and 0.3 to 0.5 parts by weight of a wet strength agent, based on 100 parts by weight of pulp to produce base paper, which is soaked in a mixed solution of 2 to 5% by weight of polyvinyl alcohol, 0.1 to 1.0% by weight of a wet strength agent, 1.0 to 5.0% by weight of urea and 0 to 10% by weight of glycerin and then passed through a compression roll. Thereafter, the treated paper is soaked in a mixed solution of 2 to 5% by weight of borax and 2 to 5% by weight of glycerin, passed through a compression roll and dried.
