    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for mixing optical frequencies are provided to obtain a phase-locked single mode laser beam by injecting a femtosecond laser optical frequency beam into only one modes of a diode laser. An apparatus for mixing optical frequencies with each other includes a mode-locked femtosecond laser, a diode laser, and an interference filter. The mode-locked femtosecond laser is a main laser diode. The diode laser is a slavery laser diode. The laser beam from the femtosecond laser is injected into the diode laser. The laser beam from the femtosecond laser travels through the interference filter, so that only an optical frequency beam component which has a wavelength near from an oscillation wavelength of the diode laser, is injected to the diode laser.
